Jennie is a Strategic Communications expert with a reputation for establishing best practice in high profile, global organisations. She has significant experience in managing stakeholders through complex and challenging events, such as mergers and acquisitions and strategic transformation and transition, coordinated and delivered across businesses, functions and regions. She has a fundamental grounding in capital markets, M&A and investor relations.
Strengths and Career Achievements
Jennie has gained her experience during a 25 year career in professional and financial services, healthcare and energy, managing engagement and communications with multiple stakeholders in large, global organisations, operating at Executive Committee level for the past 15 years. Since 2013 she has been a Consultant; most recently she was seconded into a ‘silver circle’ International law firm (400 Partners, 3,500 employees, 28 offices in 16 countries) to launch the firm’s new Values, Vision and Strategy following its merger with an Australian law firm. As a member of the Executive Committee and with management responsibility for the firm’s communications and marketing functions, she created an integrated, strategic communications and engagement/change management programme. Working closely with the Board, Executive Committee Partners and Strategy team, she launched multiple key strategic implementation initiatives to the Partnership and wider firm.
Previously Jennie was at Deutsche Bank, where she was Global Head of Client Marketing for Corporate and Investment Banking, having joined in 2006 as the Global Head of Communications and Marketing for Global Banking. She was a member of the Global Banking Management Team. Jennie established and drove a best practice communications and marketing programme with key stakeholders that helped the bank to deliver demanding performance goals. Prior to this, Jennie was a senior executive with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) where she was a member of the company’s Corporate Executive Team, responsible globally for Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Product communications, Corporate Responsibility and Community Partnerships, as well as serving as a member of the GSK Board’s Corporate Responsibility Committee. Jennie played a key role in the successful merger and integration between Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham, which established GlaxoSmithKline as the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world and in the FTSE top 3. The merger was the largest in corporate history at the time. Prior to that Jennie was Head of Investor Relations at British Gas where she played a key role in the company’s de-merger.
In 2004 Jennie won the ‘European Women of Achievement’ award for Business.
