Jo is a Chartered Accountant with strong project management, commercial and operational experience. As a project manager she specialises in cross-border initiatives and new product launches. Jo joined Skarbek as Operations and Finance Director after having project managed the hugely successful and widely reported 2014 Invictus Games.
Strengths and Career Achievements
Jo qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC before moving to GlaxoSmithKline (formerly SmithKline Beecham) where she was identified as a natural project manager of complex cross-border, cross-functional projects. Her project management responsibilities while at GSK included the merger of SmithKline Beecham and Glaxo Wellcome consumer healthcare businesses in the Central & Eastern Europe region, the integration of a newly acquired brand in CEE countries, a regional restructure, and cross-territory and multi-language new product launches. She has also worked with Procter & Gamble’s healthcare sector and Walkers crisps in Switzerland, managing the creation and delivery of marketing assets.
More recently she led the takeover of a wind farm project by Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy, and ran a programme advising almost 200 US law firm Partners. In 2014 she took on the role of project manager of the Events Delivery team for the inaugural Invictus Games, held at the London 2012 Olympic venues.
Jo was educated at Exeter University, is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, and also has a marketing diploma. She speaks German (fluently), French and Spanish.
