Ruth is a seasoned international lawyer and team leader with over 25 years of experience gained across a variety of industry sectors including FMCG, pharmaceutical and petrochemical. She is a noted thought leader on the areas of compliance and ethics, and is also a qualified executive coach, working with teams and individuals.
Strengths and Career Achievements
Ruth began her career in private practice working in general international corporate law, M&A, competition and IP law before moving in-house. Ruth has lived and worked in the USA, Italy, Egypt, Spain, Denmark, Austria and the UK.
Ruth has occupied senior positions in multinational companies in three sectors: FMCG (Cadbury Schweppes), pharmaceutical and medical devices (Allergan Inc.) and petrochemicals (Borealis AG). At Allergan and Borealis she was a member of the Management Team and built successful legal departments as well as implementing crisis management and ethics and compliance capabilities globally.
Since then, Ruth has developed her practice as a thought leader, consultant and executive coach. She is an author and regular speaker on topics related to ethics and integrity, taking a holistic approach aimed at engaging all areas of the organisation. Ruth assists global firms in creating the changes required to achieve ethical cultures based on strong values. She also helps organisations deliver their strategy through building powerful teams and effective leaders.
Ruth has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Ruth has also studied at Cranfield and IMD Business Schools. She holds an Advanced Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching from the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC), is a Barrett Values Centre CTT Certified Consultant, and is the author of two Good Practice Guides published by the Institute of Business Ethics. She speaks Italian (fluently), Spanish and French.
