He has translated this into business success within the private sector with entrepreneurial delivery of large-scale technology enabled programmes and being brought in successfully to lead the turn-around of a SME at the forefront of its sector. He has also demonstrated commercial and technical credibility as a Senior Advisor to a world leading satellite solutions provider. He has a reputation for distilling clarity from complexity.

Sector and Service Expertise

Respected across a wide range of industry partners and international government clients including regulators, Ministries and licensing authorities, Andy concluded a distinguished military career as Director (Information) at Army HQ, where he had policy and oversight responsibility for all command and control, communications, cyber, information systems and intelligence capability for the British Army. He was a Member of the Defence Cyber Steering Group and maintains strong high-level links with other nations’ equivalents.  

Strengths and Career Achievements

Andy’s achievements are grounded in operational experience. He has held positions as Chief of Staff (COO/CIO) of British forces’ operations in Afghanistan, as Director Command and Battlespace Management and Army Senior Data Protection Officer at the Land Forces Headquarters, providing policy direction for the implementation of informations systems, acting as user sponsor and management lead for the delivery and operation of all communications systems and IT services found within, and provided by others, for the Army. He has held various consultancy roles including generating attributable $multi-million benefit to a FTSE 250 listed multi-national ‘blue-chip’ company and (as interim MD), leading the turn-around of a SME renewable energy developer through late stage R&D to secure ‘next steps’ international investment.
